Today we loaded up the U-Haul for the long trek north. Thanks to early preparation (carrying all the boxes down in the AM and preparing the furniture for moving) and help from Alan and Jan Thiese and Rev. Mark and Judy Jurgensen, we were able to load our truck in about two hours.
Tonight we're staying with our parents here in Macon. Tomorrow morning we leave whenever the alarm clock--aka "St. James"--goes off.
We'll miss our little above-garage studio apartment. We never planned to stay in it for four years, but its location outside the city (no neighbors, no crime, no noise) and the very affordable rent rather grew on us.
Our new place will be a little bigger and will have actual rooms. We don't really know how to handle that, but I suppose we'll figure it out.
